Role Summary

The primary responsibility is to work with portfolio managers and other parties in the management of portfolios that invest in publicly traded real estate investment trusts in Canada and the U.S. in order to generate optimal return and ensure sound risk management.


Duties and Responsibilities

1.   Collect and analyze key information on REITs’ markets and their submarkets

2.   Conduct research and valuation on individual REITs

3.   Contribute to the decision-making with respect to asset mix and individual opportunities

4.   Monitor portfolio performance, maintain database and update financial models

5.   Work with portfolio managers in the overall management of REITs portfolios

6.   Maintain portfolios in accordance with established risk management strategies?

7.   Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reports to management team and clients

8.   Aid in the preparation of product design and marketing initiatives


Qualification and Skills

1.   Solid understanding of real estate markets and in-depth knowledge of REITs investments

2.   Thorough investment management know-how with minimum 3 years of direct experience in discretionary investment management, covering both financial analysis and managing portfolios

3.   Ability to value REITs by using a combination of quantitative and qualitative analyses

4.   Master’s degree in a real estate/business related major, CIM/CFA/CPA preferred

Role Summary

Duties and Responsibilities

1.   Work with portfolio managers and mortgage brokers to select qualified mortgages based on established investment criteria and authorized limits

2.   Perform due diligence and exhibit independent judgement on the credit worthiness of borrowers

3.   Responsible for ongoing monitoring, problem detection/resolution, and maintaining balance between growth objectives and credit quality

4.   Interact with legal, accounting and other professionals regarding issues of credit quality, risk exposure and compliance with internal and regulatory policies

5.   Manage work volumes in a timely and effective manner with a high level of quality

6.   Prepare monthly, quarterly and ad-hoc reports to management team and clients

7.   Performs other duties as assigned or requested


Qualifications/Requirements:
